Brain Tumour Focus is a partnership between patients, NHS staff in Leeds, and OSCAR’s Charity, united to transform brain tumour care in Yorkshire. Together, we’re raising funds to bring the UK’s first portable MRI scanner into clinical use. MRI scans are vital for diagnosis and treatment, but traditional scanners are slow, expensive, and often distressing, especially for young patients who may need anaesthesia. The Hyperfine Swoop, a groundbreaking portable MRI scanner, changes that.

It brings brain imaging directly to the bedside, reducing delays, stress, and unnecessary patient transfers. In emergency and intensive care settings, it enables fast, informed decisions. In clinics or GP surgeries, it’s easy to use and integrates seamlessly into routine care or screening. For children, it’s quiet, open, and radiation-free, with space for parents to stay close by.
